Essentially “free template” web sites are a marketing deception. All sites advertising free templates have user contract stipulations, the main one being a link back to the site you got the template from. In other words you provide a form of advertising for the template website in exchange for the template. Some sites will let you remove the link for a price, but then it’s not free. Most sites offering free templates also had templates for sale. If you want a website without an unwanted link on it you could have one designed for you. But it will cost more than paying for a readymade whether or not you can get the link removed. A few sites offer a bulk rate. The more you buy the lower the unit price. Other bulk deals offered a membership giving you access to the site’s templates for a specified time. Many sites offer affiliate programs offering you commissions if you either sell their templates on your site or refer other customers to their site.
